The Ejipura flyover missed its October-end deadline. The Greater Bengaluru Authority's internal target is now the end of December, and that covers only the elevated stretch from Ejipura to Kendriya Sadan junction. The entry and exit ramps on Sarjapur Road, near the Koramangala water tank, need fresh land acquisition and are expected only next year.
How the dates moved
- November 2019: the original completion date.
- March 2022: the first contract was cancelled over financial and execution problems.
- November 2023: a new contractor signed for the remaining work.
- 2026: completion was given as March, then June, then the end of July, then the end of October.
- Now: December-end for the elevated stretch; the Sarjapur Road ramps in 2027.
Work also slowed in recent months because of a shortage of stone aggregate. By March 2027, the flyover will have been under construction for ten years.
For Koramangala and Sarjapur Road
Even if the December target holds, the flyover will not connect to Sarjapur Road until the ramps are built.
